About The Position

Our Arens Control site in Arlington Heights, IL is looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to support their automotive product lines! As the Supplier Quality Engineer, you will own all quality activities related to our supply base. This will include assisting with supplier selection, supplier audits, support to design and manufacturing for new product development, and root cause analysis of component failures. In addition, you will assist with analysis of reports and production data. You will also provide recommendations on quality standards and procedures when necessary.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate knowledge of AIAG quality core tools, with an emphasis on APQP/PPAP.
  • Ability to lead a cross functional team in RCA (root cause analysis).
  • Experience with problem solving techniques such as 8D, Fishbone diagram, 5-why.
  • Experience with engineering drawings & tolerance, standards & specifications.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/activities; results-driven.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience using or navigating through an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • 2-3 years of applicable experience within Quality Engineering with exposure to electrical/electronic products.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical knowledge and hand-on experience using various measurements equipment (CMM, OGP, Comparator, Faro Arm etc) preferable.
  • Engineering degree strongly preferred.
  • ASQ CSSBB a plus.
  • Experience within an IATF certified environment preferred.
  • VDA experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own all quality activities related to our supply base.
  • Assist with supplier selection.
  • Conduct supplier audits.
  • Support design and manufacturing for new product development.
  • Perform root cause analysis of component failures.
  • Assist with analysis of reports and production data.
  • Provide recommendations on quality standards and procedures.
  • Measure and monitor supplier performance including PPM levels.
  • Function as a lead auditor to evaluate high risk suppliers and drive corrective actions to improve underperformance.
