About The Position

The Supplier Quality Engineer will oversee supplier performance/evaluation and drive continuous improvement activity with TTM’s suppliers. This role involves reviewing supplier quality data, providing dispositions for suspect parts, and collaborating with suppliers on corrective actions and escape prevention. The engineer will also establish and monitor supplier performance metrics, develop improvement plans, and conduct on-site supplier assessments as needed. This position requires interaction with internal teams and suppliers to address quality concerns and ensure product compliance.

Requirements

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, including statistical data analysis and interpretation, as well as the ability to develop, implement, and drive improvement plans and project teams to successful completion
  • Strong background in the use and understanding of key manufacturing performance metrics
  • Strong communication skills in English-verbal & written, planning, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; willingness to be part of a team
  • Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Good English skills with the ability to read, write and communicate clearly
  • Good reading vision; ability to sit/stand up to 8 hours a day
  • Due to ITAR requirements, applicants must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • BS, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience, or 4-6 years technical work experience in electronics manufacturing/engineering or related field

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with FMEA, Detail Process and Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis and Error Proofing tools
  • Previous engineering experience within a PCBA environment
  • Working knowledge of Industry and Military Standards

Responsibilities

  • Review supplier quality data and nonconformance
  • Provide dispositions of suspect supplier parts and work with the supplier on corrective action and implementation of escape prevention through the use of quality inspection plans and quality specifications
  • Assure parts and components are received for inspection in the most efficient manner while maintaining the high-quality standards required
  • Establish and collect data for supplier performance monitoring, analyzing results and providing feedback to drive improvement
  • Develop and maintain monthly supplier improvement plans and report status
  • Generate and track responses to supplier CARs, ensuring issues are driven to closure
  • Travel to suppliers to conduct process reviews and assessments as needed
  • Partner with TTM operators, inspector(s), suppliers and Process Engineering on daily questions or issues that arise from general daily activities
  • Interact with suppliers and management on quality related concerns from the manufacturing area affecting product compliance, corrective and preventative actions.
  • Support completion of First Article Inspection Reports, FAIRs, and other essential quality systems
  • Work with first article inspection group to drive reduction in supplier documentation issues
  • Apply working knowledge of AS9100 and NADCAP.
  • Active member of the QMS internal audit team
  • Support monthly Continuous Improvement Meeting with Production and Quality Departments
  • All other assigned duties as required within the quality organization
