The Supplier Quality Engineer will support Quality strategies to achieve targets aligned with Company goals and objectives. This role involves reviewing past performances, performing risk assessments, and identifying projects to impact Supplier Quality Management (SQM) KPIs. The engineer will implement robust process controls for managing suppliers to prevent defects, utilize data systems to collect and evaluate supplier quality KPIs, and contribute to plant quality reports. Continuous tracking of target setting and plan fulfillment, along with performing process audits, are key responsibilities. The role also ensures implementation and compliance with IATF and VDA standards, and facilitates lessons learned and read-across initiatives. Communication with customers, suppliers, and other interested parties is crucial, as is understanding customer requirements and ensuring Continental Quality requirements are met by suppliers. Collaboration with management during supplier escalations and successful handover of projects from New Product Introduction to Series Production are also part of the role. The engineer will drive and coordinate with suppliers to analyze material issues, implement preventive actions, and support the consolidation of supplier-related Non-Conformance Cost (NCC). Problem-solving activities include executing supplier management to track quality deviations, driving root cause analysis and countermeasure implementation, using statistical tools for data analysis, driving scrap performance improvement, and utilizing advanced problem-solving tools. Support for new product launches and model rolls, as well as driving TPM, Kaizen, and Lean initiatives, are also expected.
