About The Position

Join Insulet’s innovative R&D Supplier Engineering team and help bring life-changing medical technologies to market through a global network of advanced manufacturing partners. This role is ideal for engineers with experience in supplier development, manufacturing processes, automation, or quality engineering who enjoy working directly with suppliers to launch new products, implement capital equipment, improve processes, and solve complex technical challenges. You'll collaborate across Quality, Sourcing, Manufacturing, and R&D teams, drive impactful projects from concept to production, and gain valuable exposure to precision component manufacturing in a fast-paced, regulated medical device environment with opportunities for travel and professional growth. Position Overview: The Supplier Project Manager is a key member of the Supplier Engineering group, which is part of Insulet’s Supply Chain organization. Insulet manages a global supply chain and sources precision components and commodities from around the world for use in its devices. The Supplier Project Manager works closely with peers and leaders in Quality, Sourcing and Manufacturing to plan and implement new capital tooling and equipment at suppliers, execute improvement projects across suppliers and support project management training across our global team of project engineers. The ideal candidate has project management experience working with suppliers of custom precision components for use in medical devices. Six Sigma or Lean experience is a plus. The candidate should have a strong quality background and the ability to prioritize day-to-day problems and occurrences.

Requirements

  • BS Engineering Degree (Plastics, Mechanical, Manufacturing/Industrial) or related field
  • 2+ years of regulated industry experience with project management
  • Ability to manage Supply Chain projects concept to production, including the authoring and oversight of IQ/OQ/PQ protocols for component manufacturing processes and secondary
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding team player who seeks and values diverse input to hone ideas
  • Highly-motivated, self-starter
  • Appreciates the value of timelines and enjoys working in the focused environment that they create
  • Project Management experience
  • Ability to use SmartSheet and/or Microsoft Project and dependencies

Nice To Haves

  • Six Sigma or Lean experience is a plus.
  • Experience working with suppliers of custom precision components for use in medical devices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, plan, manage and implement supplier capital qualifications from kick-off to implementation into production using structure project management tools.
  • Lead, plan, manage and implement programs across multiple suppliers with the support of multiple project engineers
  • Lead with teamwork and drive for results; able to work in a borderless organization and across multiple functions including, programs, engineering, purchasing and suppliers
  • Lead teams responsible for the procurement and installation of manufacturing equipment at global suppliers
  • All other duties as assigned
