About The Position

At Boston Scientific, this Supplier Engineer III will evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. Assignments have clear and specified objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables. This role will serve as the liaison between Sourcing and other groups in resolving problems encountered in the supply chain. At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related science discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years of supplier and manufacturing engineering experience
  • Experience in supplier relationship management and/or purchased component management
  • Demonstrated engineering fundamentals (LEAN , DFM, etc.) and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated cross functional teamwork in a technically demanding environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work across different time zones with a global team

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering field
  • Neuromodulation and/or Urology supplier engineering experience
  • Prior experience in medical device industry or similar, highly-regulated industry
  • Ability to travel, domestic and international, up to 15%

Responsibilities

  • Participate in large-scale projects, or lead small-to-medium scale projects, under guidance from senior engineering staff; use all relevant Boston Scientific business tools & Core Supplier Engineering procedures including Material Qualification activities and all required Windchill activity
  • Participate in project teams cooperating with cross-functional team members to qualify and improve supplier processes; plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project
  • Interface with suppliers with support from commodity team members to drive investigation of supplied material issues or supply constraints
  • Execute material investigations to determine and address the root cause for defective components; support material investigations where defects in supplied materials are identified within the supply base
  • Oversee and coordinate supply base Notifications of Change; demonstrate proficiency in using the Supplier Change Impact Assessment process to implement supplier related changes in the relevant Quality Management System
