Requirements

  • Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines

Responsibilities

  • Strategic relationship manager for key suppliers
  • Partner with stakeholders to develop and execute on all aspects of strategic sourcing and procurement within your commodity/category
  • Take complete ownership of assigned suppliers & drives supplier in achieving quality, cost, delivery or lead-time targets, which may include engagement with sub-tiers in the supply chain.
  • Negotiates and manages supplier commercial agreements which is the basis for all business relationships between Applied Materials and supplier.
  • For specific commodities: develops, aligns and implements commodity strategies as they support our internal customers.
  • Support business in spend management projects - driving savings, process effectiveness, supplier consolidation & management, risk reduction & management, improved visibility and control of expenditures
  • Support new supplier introduction and/or disengagement requirements to/from the Applied Materials supply base
  • Close interactions with RD&E teams to identify new capabilities needed and identify new suppliers to support these requirements
  • Understands the use of competitive cost engineering that allows for favorable negotiation with suppliers
  • Conduct regular supplier Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR’s) with key stakeholders for supplier performance reviews
