About The Position

The Supplemental OB Hospitalist position is designed to support the established groups of OB Hospitalists located at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center in Vancouver, WA. Additional opportunities for coverage at other sites within the Legacy system may be available if interested. Requirements

Graduate of four-year U.S. Medical School or equivalent with residency completed in OB/GYN
Full OB scope of both low and high-risk pregnancies including NSVD, operative vaginal delivery, cesarean section, management of third stage labor, hemorrhage, level 1 ultrasound, repair of episiotomy and lacerations, VBAC, post-partum D&C etc.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in OB-GYN.
Unrestricted license to practice medicine in Oregon and Washington.
Current BLS from the American Heart Association required.
In-house 24-hour shifts (designated, well-appointed call room)

Responsibilities

Support the inpatient needs of the Legacy Medical Group (LMG) Maternal Fetal Medicine service.
Work closely with MFM providers who have 24/7 (not in-house) coverage available.
Provide backup to the LMG Midwifery Practice (all CNMs).
Provide coverage for unassigned labor/triage patients.
Support private practice OB colleagues as needed (i.e. C-section assisting).
Both locations have Level IV NICUs and serve a vital role in the surrounding communities for high-risk pregnancies.
Dedicated in-house Anesthesia is present 24/7 at both sites.
Local academic OB/GYN and Family Medicine residents provide coverage 24/7 at LEMC, with occasional medical student rotations at both sites.
No clinic responsibilities.
