The Supplemental Instruction Leader provides academic support to students in historically difficult courses. Leaders attend all meetings of their assigned course, take notes, complete homework, and read assigned materials. They conduct three 50-minute study sessions per week throughout the term using strategies from SI Leader training, and provide additional sessions during final exam week. Leaders create and use handouts and a variety of learning strategies, meet regularly with the SI Supervisor and cooperating faculty member, and attend scheduled meetings with other SI Leaders and supervisory staff. They may also assist the SI Supervisor with training other SI Leaders and perform other duties as assigned. For Spring 2027, leaders are being hired for ACCT 2210, BIOL 3310, BIOL 3320, BIOL 3500, ECON 2000, ECON 2020, ECON 2030, and MATH 1280. Applicants should identify the course or courses for which they are applying. Leaders must be able to attend the assigned class meeting times. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
