About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first-level supervisor, providing planning, direction, organization of work, and exercising control over assigned nonsupervisory subordinate employees. This role involves planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the section/unit to ensure that courses taught comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs. The position also involves exercising supervisory personnel management responsibilities, developing and/or revising lesson plans and training materials, and instructing students at basic and/or advanced levels. The Supervisory Training Instructor represents the training unit/element supervised with various installation and functional area organizations and works on special projects as directed.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship Required.
  • Males must be registered for Selective Service.
  • If authorized, PCS will be paid IAW JTR and AF Regulations.
  • If receiving an authorized PCS, you may be subject to completing/signing a CONUS agreement.
  • This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program.
  • Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an appropriate Security Clearance.
  • A 1-year probationary period is required if applicant selected has not previously met this requirement.
  • Pre-employment physical is a condition of employment.
  • Requires some physical exertion which may include at times such as long periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, slippery, and/or rocky surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, kneeling, stretching, pushing, pulling, reaching; and recurring lifting and carrying of moderately heavy items (occasionally items up to 50 pounds).
  • Requires specific but common physical characteristics and abilities, such as above average agility and dexterity.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of the principles and practical methods, techniques, and tools of instruction to teach a variety of students with a range of differences such as diverse ages, backgrounds, and levels of interest.
  • Knowledge of Aircraft Maintenance at a practical level to include procedures, aircraft system theory, common test equipment, common tool usage, Air Force Technical Orders (AFTOs), automated maintenance management systems, safety, security, and management and maintenance directives.
  • Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulation, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Aircraft Maintenance career field functions and capabilities.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Must submit a copy of your transcripts.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum degree requirement of an Associate’s Degree from CCAF or a recognized accredited college or university and experience that has demonstrated a practical knowledge of the subject area to be taught (i.e., Aircraft Maintenance) and the methods and techniques of instruction.
