About The Position

Palmer Candy is looking for a 2nd shift Supervisor at our Bluff St location. The 2nd Shift Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing all production activities during the shift with minimal supervision. This role ensures the safe, efficient manufacturing and packaging of food products while driving team performance, quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives. The supervisor is accountable for meeting production goals and maintaining a high-performance culture.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of supervisory experience in food manufacturing or a related industry
  • Proven ability to lead large teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with limited oversight
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards, including GMP and HACCP
  • Ability to verbally communicate proficiently in English to effectively engage with internal teams. Applicant must be proficient in reading and understanding English-language manuals, equipment, instructions, and other documents relevant to the role.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems (SAP or similar preferred)
  • Experience with inventory management and production planning.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop Team Members to achieve production, quality, and safety objectives
  • Oversee 2nd shift operations, ensuring adherence to food safety (GMP, HACCP), quality, and regulatory standards
  • Drive production performance to meet or exceed key metrics (OEE, yield, waste, downtime)
  • Ensure proper staffing, line setup, and material readiness for efficient shift startup and execution
  • Monitor and analyze production data; implement corrective actions to address inefficiencies
  • Champion a strong safety culture; enforce policies and lead incident prevention efforts
  • Provide real-time problem-solving for production, equipment, and personnel issues
  • Partner with QA, maintenance, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless operations
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including production records, quality checks, and inventory usage
  • Communicate shift performance, priorities, and issues to leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes, reduce waste, and increase efficiency
  • Manage time and attendance, performance feedback, and Team Member relations matters
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required
