About The Position

This role involves supervising and coordinating all fabrication activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to specification. The position requires planning, scheduling, and prioritizing daily workloads to meet production targets and customer requirements. The supervisor will lead, coach, and mentor team members, monitor performance against KPIs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Collaboration with other departments and ensuring quality standards are met are also key aspects of this role. The supervisor will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and organized work environment, managing shop floor issues, and supporting new employee onboarding.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all fabrication activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to specification.
  • Plan, schedule, and prioritize daily workloads to meet production targets and customer requirements.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor team members to develop skills, promote accountability, and build a high-performing culture.
  • Monitor and track team performance against company KPIs, including safety, quality, cost, and delivery metrics.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the fabrication department—identifying opportunities to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve workflow efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the management team to implement process improvements, standardize best practices, and introduce new technologies or methods that support operational excellence.
  • Ensure all fabrication work meets internal quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of work areas and equipment to maintain safety, cleanliness, and operational readiness.
  • Work closely with engineering, production planning, and procurement teams to coordinate materials, specifications, and schedules.
  • Facilitate daily toolbox talks, safety briefings, and performance meetings with team members.
  • Manage and resolve day-to-day issues on the shop floor, including resource constraints, material shortages, and technical challenges.
  • Maintain accurate production records, timesheets, and performance reports for management review.
  • Support the onboarding and training of new employees to ensure consistent understanding of processes and expectations.
  • Promote and uphold a positive workplace culture focused on safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
