About The Position

Plans, directs, coordinates, and performs assembly processes in an industrial plant. This role involves developing, evaluating, and improving methods, analyzing workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designing equipment and workspace layouts for maximum efficiency. The supervisor will also confer with planning and design staff on product design and tooling, estimate production times and costs, and coordinate with management on assembly capabilities and production schedules.

Requirements

  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to learn and use Microsoft Navision.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, evaluates, and improves methods.
  • Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
  • Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • Confers with management and other staff regarding assembly capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
