About The Position

The Supervisor supports FSRBC’s Medicare education and enrollment programs by leading presentations, coordinating annual enrollment activities, and assisting participants with plan and billing inquiries. This role serves as a Medicare subject matter expert, collaborating with vendor partners to ensure projects and timelines are met. Regular travel to participating school districts is required to deliver education and outreach sessions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Three – Five (3-5) years’ experience in benefits administration and/or Medicare administration.
  • A valid Florida 2-24 Health Insurance License (Health Insurance Adjuster or Life, Health & Variable Annuity License) is required or must be obtained within 6 months after hire.
  • Thorough knowledge of health insurance plans, Medicare, Medicare Supplement Plans, Medicare Advantage Plans, Medicare Prescription Drug Plans and Florida Retirement System
  • Strong working knowledge of laws, rules, and policies related to Consortium interests, programs, and services
  • Knowledge of needs and priorities of member districts and their retirees
  • Strong oral, written, interpersonal, and presentation communication skills
  • Strong word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Educate employees and retirees eligible for FSRBC about the Medicare process and available plan options through large group presentations (25+ attendees), small group sessions, and individual meetings.
  • Assists eligible participants with Medicare enrollment, billing inquiries, and plan-related escalations throughout the year, ensuring timely and accurate resolution in collaboration with vendors and insurance partners.
  • Creates, updates, and delivers presentations, written communications, and educational materials related to Medicare eligibility, enrollment, and plan benefits.
  • Coordinates annual enrollment activities, including preparing and presenting materials during open enrollment meetings and supporting related communications campaigns.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on Medicare and FSRBC program offerings, providing guidance and support to both internal staff and external stakeholders.
  • Travels to participating school districts as needed to conduct enrollment meetings, educational sessions, and retirement events.
  • Works closely with vendor partners, attending regular (weekly) meetings, collaborating on projects, and ensuring all deliverables and timelines are met in accordance with program goals.
  • Utilizes Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and Outlook proficiently to prepare reports, presentations, and correspondence.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
