About The Position
AmeriCorps is a national service program that engages thousands of Americans in intensive service to address critical community needs in areas such as education, public safety, environment, and human services. Members are part of a movement to improve neighborhoods and lives across the country. This specific position with the Regional Science Consortium Keystone SMILES AmeriCorps program offers hands-on experience, training, and the opportunity to make a lasting difference. Members will participate in AmeriCorps activities and host site responsibilities, focusing on areas like School Readiness & Success, Mentoring Youth through Service, Academic support service, Community Strengthening through Outreach Events and Special Projects, and STEM/STEAM/STREAM activities and service learning. Host sites may have additional areas of focus.
Requirements
- Government Issued Photo ID
- Signed Social Security Card
- US Birth Certificate or another form of Proof of Citizenship
- Successfully complete a term of service to earn the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award.

Responsibilities
- Participate in a one-day pre-service virtual training.
- Complete additional assigned trainings during the first 7 days of service.
- Participate in AmeriCorps activities in addition to host site placement responsibilities.
- Focus on areas such as School Readiness & Success, Mentoring Youth through Service, Academic support service, Community Strengthening through Outreach Events and Special Projects, and STEM/STEAM/STREAM activities and service learning.
- Potentially serve a few weekend days during the term of service for special service projects or activities promoting civic engagement.
