About The Position
AmeriCorps is a national service program that engages thousands of individuals in service to meet critical needs in areas such as Education, Public Safety, Environment, and Human Services. This specific position with the Regional Science Consortium Keystone SMILES AmeriCorps involves hands-on experience in areas like School Readiness & Success, Mentoring Youth, Academic Support, Community Strengthening, and STEM/STEAM/STREAM activities. Members will participate in AmeriCorps activities in addition to host site placement responsibilities, which may include special service projects and events promoting civic engagement. The program aims to unite Americans in improving communities and fostering values of community, responsibility, and opportunity.
Requirements
- Government Issued Photo ID
- Signed Social Security Card
- US Birth Certificate or another form of Proof of Citizenship
- Successful completion of a term of service to earn the Education Award.
- Eligibility requirements for Health Care Coverage/Dental/Vision.
- Eligibility requirements for Child Care.

Responsibilities
- Participate in AmeriCorps activities in addition to host site placement responsibilities.
- Engage in School Readiness & Success initiatives.
- Mentor youth through service.
- Provide academic support services.
- Strengthen communities through outreach events and special projects.
- Participate in STEM/STEAM/STREAM activities and service learning.
- Attend a one-day pre-service virtual training.
- Complete additional assigned trainings during the first 7 days of service.
