Café Marquesa, a busy fine dining restaurant in Old Town Key West, is seeking a Supervisor to oversee operations. The role involves ensuring Noble House Marquesa standards are met through training, motivating, and coaching staff. The supervisor will be visible throughout the operation, cultivating relationships with regular and new guests to increase loyalty. Requirements

  • Previous fine dining restaurant supervising experience is highly desirable.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • College degree in hospitality management or related field preferred.
  • Two to three years’ experience in a similar position preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards, techniques, and operations.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with POS systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional appearance and presentation required.
  • Meet NHHR background screening requirements.
  • Ability to positively interact with diverse personalities, including co-workers, subordinates, guests and purveyors in a variety of work situations.
  • Must have active listening and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to recognize problems and to find solutions creatively and expeditiously.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operations of the restaurant.
  • Assist with training, motivating, and coaching staff to ensure Noble House Marquesa standards are met.
  • Be visible throughout the operation, cultivating relationships with regular guests and cultivating relationships with new patrons in order to increase loyalty.
  • Observe the outlet's physical condition and make recommendations for corrections and improvements.
  • Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests.
  • Maintain a clean and well-arranged dining, service, and kitchen area.
  • Maintain adequate supplies, equipment, and food inventories.
  • Maintain weekly/monthly inventories.
  • Provide assistance with food and beverage orders and supply orders.
  • Ensure that equipment is properly maintained.
  • Maintain compliance with all food and beverage regulations.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by resolving complaints.
  • Ensure assigned work areas are clean, sanitary, and organized.
  • Ensure familiarity with all hotel and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain weekly work schedules in accordance with staffing guidelines and labor forecasts.
  • Make sure staff report to work on time and keep a record of any late or absent employees.
  • Make sure staff breaks are coordinated.
  • Assign work duties to staff members.
  • Organize a pre-shift meeting and discuss all business-related information with staff.
  • Ensure staff are groomed and attired properly; rectify any deficiencies.
  • Ensure that all materials and equipment are ready for service, and rectify any deficiencies with the appropriate personnel.
  • Continually monitor the performance of staff in all phases of service and job duties.
  • Ensure exceptional service is provided consistently by monitoring SOPs.
