About The Position

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for hiring and training new employees, organizing and overseeing the schedules and work of assigned teams, conducting performance evaluations, and handling discipline and termination as needed. This role maintains inventory and supplies by receiving, storing, and delivering items, securing the warehouse, and supervising staff. Key responsibilities include achieving warehouse human resource objectives, meeting operational and financial standards, managing inventory transfers, delivering supplies, maintaining storage areas, conducting physical counts, ensuring warehouse security, and keeping equipment operational. The position also focuses on implementing warehouse efficiencies and cost reduction programs, fostering a positive and safe work environment, and ensuring efficient product flow through the warehouse.

Requirements

  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Requires excellent communication skills and a professional attitude in dealing directly with all associates.
  • Must be flexible in working overtime depending on work requirements.
  • Must be self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently and as a team.
  • Requires strong problem solving skills with the ability to coach and mentor team members.
  • Must have ability to generate management reports in Excel, ISO experience to create SOP, work instructions and procedures in Word and presentation materials in PowerPoint formats.
  • Must be multi-tasking and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Requires abilities to set and shift priorities based on business requirements.
  • Must be able to tolerate moderate to high noise levels in a warehouse environment.
  • Office and outside environmental conditions found in the warehouse, hot in the summer, cold in the winter.
  • Individuals may need to walk for an extensive period of time while working and walking the facilities; to reach over shoulder heights; bend or stoop below the waist; repetitive wrist, hand, or finger movement; occasional lifting up to 30 pounds.

  • Accomplishes warehouse human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Meets warehouse operational standards by contributing warehouse information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying warehouse system improvements.
  • Meets warehouse financial standards by providing annual budget information; monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions.
  • Moves inventory by scheduling materials to transfer to and from warehouse; coordinating inventory transfers with related departments.
  • Delivers supplies and equipment to departments by receiving and transferring items.
  • Maintains storage areas by organizing floor space; adhering to storage design principles; recommending improvements.
  • Maintains inventory by conducting monthly physical counts; reconciling variances; inputting data.
  • Responsible for warehouse security via alarm system.
  • Tests alarm system.
  • Keeps equipment operating by enforcing operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; requiring preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
  • Implements warehouse efficiencies and cost reduction programs to assist the company in making better merchandise flow decisions by conducting thorough analysis on key areas which cause product or delivery issues.
  • Builds and maintains a work environment that is positive and is supported by open feedback and two-way communication at all levels.
  • Maintains a positive work environment while supporting the company’s culture.
