About The Position

Supervises, organizes and develops the team, materials, and equipment to meet production and quality goals in a safe work environment. This role ensures effective employee relations, provides coaching and development, and resolves employee issues. The Supervisor maintains an environment that supports Contec's core values and culture, plans and directs work to meet production and quality goals, and ensures adequate staffing and cross-training. They are responsible for ensuring production equipment and processes are safe and functioning properly, composing and issuing disciplinary actions, observing manufacturing processes to eliminate waste and maximize throughput, and communicating performance and goals to employees. The Supervisor also looks for ways to improve material variance and processes, ensures timely and adequate training for employees, assesses employee performance, provides individual feedback, and offers emergency response leadership. Participation within ISO 9001-2008 quality standard guidelines is also required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A., B.S.) from four-year College or University; or one to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to listen, think, discern, organize, speak clearly are particularly important.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to understand and follow site protocols, policies and procedures.
  • Performs duties with the highest regard for safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures effective employee relations, provides coaching and development of their employees, and resolves employee issues.
  • Maintains an environment that supports and promotes the core values and culture of Contec.
  • Effectively plans, organizes and directs the work to be performed through assigned Leads to meet production and quality goals.
  • Provides adequate staffing resources based on the skills matrix and cross trains associates.
  • Ensures production equipment and processes are safe and properly functioning.
  • Composes and issues disciplinary action as needed.
  • Observes manufacturing processes to ensure that waste is taken out of processes to ensure maximum throughput.
  • Communicates with employees during the shift on performance and hourly goals and provides feedback.
  • Looks for ways to improve material variance and processes.
  • Ensures their employees receive timely and adequate training to perform their jobs.
  • Assesses employee performance and provides appropriate individual feedback in a timely manner.
  • Provides emergency response leadership as needed.
  • Participates and works within ISO 9001-2008 quality standard guidelines in accordance with Contec’s quality goals.
  • Directly supervises employees on each shift in their production department(s).
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and applicable laws.
  • Maintains necessary skills and training needed to carry out all duties satisfactorily.
