About The Position

This position supervises hourly production employees and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these employees. You will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training, assigning, scheduling, directing work, appraising performance, disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems. You must be able to maintain confidentiality; keep emotions under control; react well under pressure; treat others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; listen and get clarification; and be able to respond well to questions. You must have the ability to prioritize and plan work activities; use your time efficiently. A clear command of the English language is required, both written and verbal.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree with two years related supervisory experience and/or training in the wood treating or lumber industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Good mathematical skills.
  • Proficiency in company computer database system with production reporting and data entry requirements.
  • Willing and able to work in all types of weather environments (cold, hot, rain).
  • Excellent attendance record.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (clear command of the English language).
  • Willingness to learn and ambition to advance.
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and reach for an extended period of time.
  • Team player.
  • Flexibility (willing and available to work overtime as needed).
  • Ability to follow directions and understand when to ask questions.
