About The Position

Keeps premises of commercial, retail, airports, hospitality, healthcare, convention centers/arenas or other institutional buildings in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties. This role involves assisting the Facility Manager with scheduling and administrative duties, cleaning various areas, operating equipment, and supervising a shift, including handling employee issues.

Requirements

Prior experience in janitorial housekeeping preferred.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization in English.
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
Frequently required to climb or balance.
Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required: Close vision, Distance vision and Ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Assist Facility Manager with scheduling and administrative duties.
Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
Lifts chairs and places them over tables (approx. chair weight: 20-25 lbs.).
Moves chemicals (5 gal buckets approx. weight 40+ lbs.).
Moves tables (approx. weight 40+ lbs.).
Operates different types of equipment (i.e., burnishers, scrubbers, pressure washer).
Uses ManLift or ScissorLift Machine.
Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
Supervision of shift responsibility.
Handling employee issues.
