About The Position

This role supervises the Wastewater Treatment Department, overseeing around-the-clock operations across three shifts. The position involves ensuring compliance with various permits and plans, conducting inspections, scheduling operations, and monitoring systems. The supervisor will also assist in planning for new equipment and processes, manage inventory, and order necessary chemicals and supplies.

Requirements

Must have minimum Class C with BS in Chemistry/Biology and 4 years at a Class D facility, or a Class 4 certification.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to read utility drawings.
Ability to use various hand tools, pH meter, water hardness tester.
Ability to work outside “normal” work hours, as needed.

Nice To Haves

Class D WWT License issued by the state of Indiana preferred.

Responsibilities

Supervise the Wastewater Treatment Department including 3 shifts and around the clock operations.
Follow all permits/plans (MSOP/NPDES, Wastewater, SPCC, SWPPP). Maintain these plans and update accordingly.
Conduct inspections of plant, grounds, and equipment.
Schedule Wastewater operations.
Monitor, log, and analyze systems and processes.
Complete required reports to the city of Seymour.
Assist the Environmental & WW Manager in planning for new equipment or processes to ensure they are compliant with permits and submit modification requests to regulatory agencies.
Monitor daily flow to “reuse” and water that goes to city sewer.
Advise/contribute to any special projects (waste reduction / recycling, etc).
Manage inventory and prepare/submit purchase requisitions for all chemicals, replacement parts, and supplies for the department.
Order chemicals and supplies for the department.
