About The Position

Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Transportation Department, ensuring that the highest level of professionalism and guest service is achieved and maintained. This role involves managing team members, ensuring safe and legal operation of vehicles, addressing guest issues, coordinating vehicle maintenance, and maintaining the appearance of the transportation fleet and work environment. The supervisor is expected to demonstrate excellent customer service skills, adapt to changes, communicate effectively, and participate in departmental initiatives. Additionally, the role includes personnel management responsibilities such as interviewing, training, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions, all while maintaining high team member morale and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED is required
  • One year of supervisory experience is required
  • Must possess a valid N.C. CDL driver’s license with a passenger endorsement or the ability to apply and obtain this license within 30 days of initial hire.
  • Valid driver’s license required with no more than one (1) DUI conviction or three or more moving violations, three or more traffic citation convictions in the past 3 years (from date of conviction), or conviction for suspension or conviction for at-fault accident within the last 3 years required
  • Ability to drive and operate all types of passenger vehicles and light trucks required
  • Ability to drive vehicles with manual transmissions required
  • Proficient in the use of Windows-based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution is preferred
  • Three years of experience in Valet operations, transportation, vehicle maintenance, or fleet management is preferred
  • Experience with money handling and electronic cash register operation preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that Team Members are scheduled appropriately to meet fluctuating business demands
  • Ensure that Team Members are operating property and guest vehicles safely and in accordance with applicable laws
  • Ensure that departmental service initiatives are followed through and strictly adhered to throughout their assigned shift
  • Ensure that guest issues are addressed in an effective and courteous manner
  • Ensure that appropriate service recovery measures are applied to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Handle vehicle damage and theft complaint reports in accordance with department policy and in conjunction with the Security and Risk Management Departments
  • Coordinate maintenance of property-owned vehicles
  • Ensure that the appearance and condition of the entire Transportation fleet, including the work environment, is maintained at the highest level
  • Demonstrate high levels of Spotlight on Service skills on a consistent basis

  • Responsible for or actively participates in the initiation of personnel actions, including but not limited to interviews, training, candidate selection, terminations, performance reviews, promotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions
  • Exhibit sound decision-making with an emphasis on motivating the team and maintaining high morale
  • Provide continuous positive coaching for the development of Team Members and appropriate corrective action when necessary
  • Train subordinates, providing each with the knowledge, development, and appropriate direction to perform their responsibilities
  • Ensure timely and accurate performance appraisals and accurate work history entries
  • Conduct regular meetings with your shift and team to keep Team Members informed relative to financial, guest service, and Team Member metrics performance
  • Proactive with incidents and issues, ensuring resolution with Team Members
  • Communicate professionally with all shifts, teams, and supervisors to ensure uniformity in the department
  • Assist with on and off-property transportation needs
  • Comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Regulations for passenger carrier operations
  • Comply with U.S. Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol testing programs established for safety-sensitive positions
  • Adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies/procedures in an ethical manner
