About The Position

The Training and Facility Supervisor is responsible for the coordination and delivery of training programs required by DSV and the client, while also overseeing the safe and efficient condition of the facility and equipment. This position works closely with site leadership and Operations to ensure team members are properly trained, qualified, and supported to perform their roles safely and effectively. The Training and Facility Supervisor is also responsible for coordinating preventative maintenance, facility inspections, equipment readiness, repairs, and general facility upkeep. This role serves as a key site resource for training compliance, operational readiness, facility needs, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working in warehousing and/or logistics.
  • Minimum of six months of training experience.
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with material handling equipment.
  • General knowledge or experience related to facilities, systems maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repair work.
  • Experience coordinating multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Willing and able to work evenings and weekends as business needs require.
  • Must be able to work in warehouse environments with varying temperatures.
  • Must be able to become MHE certified within 30 days of hire and maintain applicable certifications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to maintain training records, databases, documentation, and applicable facility records.
  • English: reading, writing, and verbal communication.
  • Intermediate mathematical skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to read and follow manufacturer instructions, procedures, and related documentation.

  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage competing priorities with limited supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • College degree in business, operations, logistics, training, facilities management, or related field.

  • Experience developing and implementing warehouse training programs.
  • Working knowledge of facility maintenance methods, practices, and tools related to plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and facilitate orientation of new team members and refresher training on site and corporate policies, procedures, safety requirements, quality standards, and work instructions.
  • Facilitate shift training related to safety, operations, quality, standards, procedural updates, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain on-the-job training programs to support site performance, compliance, and employee development.
  • Conduct and coordinate training and development programs based on operational needs and in consultation with department leadership.
  • Train, certify, and recertify team members on material handling equipment (MHE) and maintain applicable certification records.
  • Monitor, measure, and report training KPIs and maintain accurate training databases, files, certifications, and development records.
  • Evaluate team member skill levels, identify training gaps, and coordinate retraining or additional development as needed.
  • Create and maintain training materials and documentation related to orientation, safety, operational procedures, and work instructions.
  • Ensure staffing changes, certifications, and training completions are accurately reflected in applicable training records and systems.
  • Work closely with site management and Operations to ensure training programs support business, client, safety, and operational requirements.
  • Oversee and coordinate preventative maintenance activities for the facility, building systems, and equipment to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Coordinate routine and long-term preventative maintenance and inspections of facility systems and equipment, including material handling equipment, heating and cooling systems, mechanical and electrical systems, and plumbing.
  • Monitor the condition of the building and equipment and coordinate general maintenance and repairs in areas including plumbing, carpentry, painting, mechanical, electrical, and custodial needs.
  • Identify and troubleshoot facility and equipment issues, determine appropriate next steps, and coordinate repairs or outside service support as necessary.
  • Ensure building or equipment concerns are reported, documented, prioritized, and addressed in a timely manner.
  • Identify, report, and assist in correcting facility-related safety hazards and ensure safe work practices are followed during maintenance and repair activities.
  • Coordinate and maintain necessary equipment, materials, tools, and resources related to training and facility operations.
  • Assist with or coordinate grounds maintenance, housekeeping, organization, and general facility upkeep as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site-specific policies, safety and work rules, and OSHA/MSDS standards.
  • Partner with site leadership, Safety, Operations, vendors, contractors, and other appropriate resources to address training and facility needs.
  • Communicate training, facility, equipment, and safety concerns to site management and provide recommendations for resolution and continuous improvement.
  • Stay abreast of applicable corporate and industry best practices related to training, facility operations, safety, and employee development.
  • May be expected to cross-train in other leadership functions to support site operations and team member development.
  • May assist other departments based on operational and business needs.
  • Work overtime as dictated by business needs, whether mandatory or voluntary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Provides leadership, direction, and oversight of site training and facility-related activities.
  • Coordinates training activities and facility priorities across departments and shifts.
  • Provides functional guidance to trainers, team members, vendors, contractors, and other personnel supporting training or facility activities, as applicable.
