About The Position

The Company B2Gold is a responsible international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, the Goose Project under construction in northern Canada, and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland. Position Supervisor, Site Services Trades, Nunavut Location and Reporting Structure Reporting to the Superintendent, Site Services, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Requirements

  • Four (4) years of experience in a remote mining setting in a logistics, camp or facilities role, with supervisory experience.
  • Journeyman Red Seal Electrician, Millwright or related Trade Certification required.
  • A Nunavut WSCC Supervisory Level II qualification, or ability to obtain same.
  • Knowledge of heating, electrical generation and distribution, fuel tank systems including dispensing and receiving modules, structures, plumbing and environment control systems in a remote off grid configuration is required.

Nice To Haves

  • ability to operate light industrial equipment, such as skid steers, forklifts and the like, is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules for site infrastructure and facilities.
  • Oversee the trades personnel on-site, which includes electricians, plumbers, Water & Sewer treatment technicians, millwrights and Oil Burners.
  • Plan and schedule activities relating to use of equipment, machinery, and infrastructure and ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Delegate functions as needed to ensure that facilities staff are able to perform their functions safely with the goal of minimizing the risk of hazards and achieve our goal of zero accidents.
  • Manage the allocation of resources such as manpower, equipment, and materials to ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and within budget.
  • Address technical issues and troubleshooting problems that arise with equipment or infrastructure.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for trades personnel to enhance their skills and knowledge, and ensuring that they stay up-to-date with relevant certifications and qualifications.
  • Uphold and enforce safety standards and procedures, promoting a safe working environment.
