About The Position

The Supervisor of the Revenue Cycle and Patient Access team will assist with leadership and support to the staff as well as operational management. This role directs and coordinates activities of subordinate staff to provide excellent customer service and improve the quality of departmental operations. The supervisor demonstrates a consistent standard of excellence to which departmental work is expected to conform.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Two years' experience
  • Experience with EHR and patient registration preferred
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Excellent customer service skills

Responsibilities

  • Assists the leader with all aspects of registration to promote complete, accurate, and timely hospital billing—maximizing collectible and minimizing uncollectible accounts.
  • Analyzes information provided from leader to ensure all objectives are being met and monitoring for trends to educate staff and inform leader of any issues that might arise that require escalation measures.
  • Addresses patient complaints in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Manages front-end processes, such as point-of-service collections, patient check-in and registration, and other duties as assigned.
  • Ensures appropriate staffing levels and assists leader with keeping an accurate schedule to be followed by staff.
  • Ensures staff is compliant and current on required trainings.
  • Performs regular audits to ensure registration quality on registrars.
  • Ensures appropriate levels of understanding, awareness, and compliance with all applicable federal, state, and agency laws, regulations, guidelines, and professional standards.
  • Collaborates with the other departments to ensure all areas of trending errors are addressed and given sufficient communication.
  • Works with other supervisors and department leaders on day-to-day operations cross functional activities.
  • Provides input for hiring, training, leading, and evaluating staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
