Collins Aerospace has an exciting opportunity available for a day shift FAA Repair Station Supervisor based in Lenexa, KS. This position is for first shift and supervises approximately 35 technicians. The Repair Station Supervisor plays a key role on our Operations Team. In this role, the supervisor is responsible for overall performance. Leading the repair station team to continuously improve performance, safety, quality, schedule, and cost while ensuring talent development of the team. Sets day-to-day activities and assists in managing and monitoring production operations, maintenance, inventory control, scheduling, and personnel. This is an onsite role in Lenexa, KS supporting a 6AM-2:30PM Shift. This role is NOT eligible for relocation.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience
  • Understanding of the maintenance practices, inspection methods and technical data requirements used to determine airworthiness of articles under FAA Part 145 regulations.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Manufacturing, aerospace and/or repair station experience preferred.
  • Prior Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong planning/organization skills to meet agreed upon volumes, quality and rate.
  • Knowledge of inventory practices, production processes, quality control, costs, process improvement, and other lean techniques for maximizing the effectiveness of manufacture.
  • Understanding of FAA Part 145 regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees repair operations (shop floor management, workforce management, and flow disruption management), scheduling and personnel.
  • Deliver operational performance against key metrics, including on-time delivery, work-in-process levels, revenue vs. plan, labor utilization, and employee and product safety.
  • Monitor individual and departmental performance and take corrective action including discipline, as needed.
  • Ensures all quality related items are complete and documented to meet established quality standards.
  • Lead and implement lean and 5S efforts and projects on designated shift to resolve manufacturing and technical issues that impact repair operations, costs, cycle time, etc.
  • Organize the training needs of the team and manage the versatility for optimal capacity
  • Drive repair team performance to meet schedules that allow for superior customer satisfaction and high operational efficiency.
  • Assists in cost reduction and process improvement to ensure efficiency of operations and cost effectiveness.
  • Assists in sequencing of work, such as build and delivery, to optimize productivity.
  • Coordinates activities for materials and logistics problem resolution to ensure availability of materials and smooth operations.
  • Monitors performance to maximize productivity.
  • Provide leadership to ensure Collins Aerospace attracts, develops, and retains the best personnel and foster and motivate the team to fully use their capabilities while achieving company goals.
  • Escalate production issues in a timely and effective manner
