About The Position

Texas Health Frisco is seeking a passionate Supervisor Rehab/Inpatient to join their team. This role focuses on continued development of leadership, expanding interdisciplinary collaboration, driving process improvement initiatives, and strengthening communication within the Inpatient Department. The hospital is a 93-bed acute care facility serving the Frisco community and surrounding areas, offering specialized services in women's health, outpatient surgery, neonatal intensive care, emergency medicine, heart and vascular care, digestive health, and bariatrics. It is a collaboration between Texas Health and UT Southwestern Medical Center, featuring a multispecialty clinic. The hospital is a Level III Trauma Center, Acute Heart Attack Ready facility, Baby-Friendly designated, and a Pathways to Excellence organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Therapy discipline (PT, OT or SLP) Required
  • 4 Years as practicing clinician with one year experience in designated leadership area Required
  • PT - Physical Therapist Upon Hire Required
  • OT - Occupational Therapist Upon Hire Required
  • SLP - Speech Language Pathology Upon Hire Required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
  • Strong verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Track record of cultivating and maintaining strong working relationships
  • Responds well to rejection/criticism while remaining optimistic and enthusiastic when faced with challenges

Responsibilities

  • Performs age-appropriate patient treatment
  • Treats primary patient population with diagnosis/problems that fall under area of clinical specialization
  • Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment
  • Performs treatment procedures that are within the scope of the professional license
  • Performs/delegates technical procedures appropriately and safely
  • Utilizes a variety of treatment techniques to achieve goals, if necessary
  • Determines patient response to treatment and evaluates progress (reassessment)
  • Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self-management and assistive equipment
  • Maintains patient safety throughout treatment
  • Communicates with physicians and other healthcare personnel as appropriate regarding patient care issues
  • Demonstrates competence in the performance of age-appropriate patient treatment and individualizes care based on age specific needs
  • Motivates noncompliant or unmotivated patients to participate in therapy
