About The Position

Responsible for assisting the Asst OTB General Manager in the day-to-day operations of the Sportsbook. This role involves being a brand ambassador for Caesars Entertainment, providing excellent customer service, coaching employees, and ensuring compliance with all departmental policies and procedures. The supervisor will oversee wagering policies, ensure AML & Title 31 procedures are followed, and supervise personnel to maximize productivity. They will also be involved in personnel development, including hiring, training, and disciplinary actions, and ensure betting limit guidelines are followed. Dispute resolution, competitor monitoring, and staying aware of legislative actions affecting the business are also key aspects of the role. Customer recognition and development are paramount, as is ensuring departmental procedures conform to regulatory requirements and provide maximum security for company assets. Facility and equipment inspections, reporting issues, and creating a fun, positive work environment are also expected. The ideal candidate will be a sports enthusiast with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to analyze financial statements, explain wagering to new guests, and execute departmental budgets. Strong organizational skills and the ability to remain calm and make rational decisions in conflict situations are necessary. The role requires the ability to work independently.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Proficient in English verbal and written with the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • 2 years supervisor experience required.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must have an outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Must be comfortable initiating conversations and creating a fun environment with our guests.
  • Flexible with working various shifts, weekends, holidays, and long hours if applicable.
  • Responsible for being gracious, courteous, and helpful to guests and co-workers and fostering a fun work environment.

  • Specific vision abilities such as close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time (minimum 4-6 hours), stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear, and use hands to fingers to handle or feel, reach with hand and arms.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a license from the Indiana Gaming Commission and Indiana Horse Racing Commission.
  • Will require access to the gaming and racing facility and access to direct reports employee files and CMS.
  • Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the property and from floor to floor either by stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalator.
  • Must have manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment and able to responds to visual and aural cues.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with personnel development including hiring, training, and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensuring betting limit guidelines are followed.
  • Resolving disputes by following posted house rules and working with local regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
  • Monitoring competitors’ practices and technological innovations affecting the Race & Sports book betting industry.
  • Remaining aware of legislative action affecting business opportunities.
  • Ensuring customer recognition and development are foremost duties for all personnel, using tools available appropriately.
  • Ensuring that departmental procedures conform to all regulatory requirements and provide maximum security for the company’s assets.
  • Inspecting facilities and equipment to ensure they are available and functioning properly.
  • Informing management of any issues with equipment or needed repairs.
  • Creating a fun, positive work environment for all employees of Caesars Entertainment.
