Requirements

  • A clear understanding of Defense contracts and specifications is a plus. able to work closely with shipyards and DCMA inspectors.
  • A clear understanding of FAR clauses and contract requirements is a plus to flow down to maintain all requirements are followed through production and inspection plan.
  • Experience with military inspections related to contracts, NDT processes, ISO, and other government technical documents to ensure compliance is a plus.
  • Must have leadership ability, capacity for strategic thinking, ability to foster innovation, time management skills, and unquestionable integrity.
  • Demonstrated ability for managing conflict and change
  • Metrology experience using scanning tools, CMMs etc
  • Experience as a quality supervisor in a manufacturing / industrial setting, with a minimum of 3 years leading a team
  • Experience in ISO Audit & certification, and MIL-I-45208
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of formal education and experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage team of union inspectors for both pumps and valves
  • Establish and maintain methods for inspection prioritization and throughput in collaboration with production
  • Provide updates during daily production meetings
  • Review and audit Novacura job tracking
  • Maintain inspector timecards
  • Manage reporting of performance including Gemba board support, bowler charts, RAILs, etc.
  • Assist Operations to reduce the number of customers reported quality issues
  • Lead 5S activities in inspection areas
  • Reduce and manage inspection backlogs of different inspection types (incoming, in-process, PT, final, etc.)
  • Balance resources depending on workload and schedule cross training and certification activities
  • Manage hold point/source inspection scheduling
