About The Position

Under the direction of the Quality Manager, the QA Supervisor leads and directs the activities of Quality (QA) personnel on the floor level to assure both accuracy and timeliness of work performed and adherence to the requirements under 21CFR117 and 21CFR111 regulations (as applicable). Provides training, plans and organizes workload, and assigns priorities. Prepares and approves deviations and investigations, as necessary. Individual serves as a key member of the Food Safety Team and is responsible for assisting the Food Safety Team Leader in the application and management of the GFSI Food Safety System.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years in the food, dietary supplement or drug business encompassing all aspects of Quality Management.
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience in Quality related job function.
  • Minimum High School Diploma, GED, or AA Degree (Bachelor’s degree, a plus)
  • Knowledge of 21 CFR parts 117, Part 111 and other regulatory standards governing the sanitation and hygiene of food manufacturing.
  • Good planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to lead, train, motivate, and work within a team
  • Excellent oral and written interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience with data collection, data management analytics and KPI reporting

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the activities of a team of Quality personnel in the performance of their tasks as it pertains to compliance of CFR117 and 111 regulations (as applicable).
  • Plans and organizes workload and assigns priorities. Assures that the assigned group or department provides accurate and timely results for effective operations in supporting production.
  • Collect, collate, and analyze data
  • Monitors individual performance and gives reviews as necessary.
  • Develops, writes, review and approves SOPs for activities within the department.
  • Assists in resolving quality issues on the Production floor, reviews and approves production in-process deviations, and review and approve investigations to determine cause of quality deficiencies.
  • Oversees the implementation and documentation and assures that all relevant procedures remain current.
  • Participates in development and coordination of Quality procedures for new and existing products
  • Conducts internal audits to measure and assesses the factory and its team in compliance to cGMPs, Food Safety and company SOPs.
  • Compliance and enforcment with company policies and procedures and maintains regular work attendance.
  • Periodically performs duties of a higher position for the purposes of training and development. May assume the role and responsibilities of Manager during absence.
  • Reports on KPIs as required to maintain or improve the food safety and quality programs
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain Payroll Database for Quality Employees
  • Gathering and/or distributing of requested docmumentation to relevant parties
  • Build and expand knowledge base of Quality Systems and Principles
  • Assist Manager with any other projects, as needed.
