About The Position

Assists with the planning, coordination, and direction of quality control programs designed to ensure continuous compliance of Water Transmission Products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate lead persons/inspectors. Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product. Helps QA Manager to formulate and maintain quality control objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals. Coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with management to maximize product reliability and minimize costs. Interprets quality control philosophy to key personnel in organization. Helps QA Manager to design and implement quality control training programs to key personnel in conjunctions with managers. Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous monitoring of production in progress as well as finished product. Plans, promotes, and organizes training activities related to product quality. Assists in the investigation of internal and external customer complaints regarding quality.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Better than average communication skills are required.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference; and the fundamentals of plane geometry, solid geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2-3 years of experience in each phase of Production operation including Management of people, Process implementation, Packaging and Logistics.
  • Experience in the Pipe, Steel or heavy highway industry or must be willing to learn and be familiar with the above mentioned.

Nice To Haves

  • AWS CWI and or NACE Level III
  • ASQC-CQM, CQA, or CQE
  • ASNT-UT, PT, VT, RT, MT Level II, or at a minimum knowledge of the NDT test methods.

  • Plays an active role on quality management teams within the organization.
  • Applies lean manufacturing concepts and approaches to analytical and reporting processes with each department.
  • Collects and analyzes data in regards to internal non-conformances relating to product quality and reports the information to operations and manufacturing management to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Interacts with customer’s inspectors, and engineers to provide required inspection and testing and provide evidence of product conformance.
  • Resolves product non-conformances in conjunction with management and our customers.
