About The Position

This role supports the production department by ensuring the timely deployment of a people development plan, assuring team competencies, and enforcing strict compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs). The supervisor is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, updating work instructions, and ensuring processes run in accordance with SOPs and other documentation. They must also manage activities with environmental impact according to the environmental management system, achieve quality objectives including GMP adherence, sanitation, food safety, and product quality checks, and actively participate in preventing and correcting quality-related errors. Additionally, the role involves enforcing personnel hygiene and safety, coaching employees through an NCE approach, daily target review and variance reporting, and developing action plans for continuous improvement. Facilitating seamless handoffs, communicating key information, and ensuring continuous line controls with immediate corrective actions are also crucial. The supervisor will manage employee and industrial relations, ensure adequate skill distribution for the production plan, and oversee the timely launch of new products. They will also coordinate with quality, engineering, and administration for installation maintenance, review maintenance effectiveness, and prioritize maintenance and repairs to maximize efficiency. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of leadership experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • OR 5 years of supervisory/management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Work extended days and/or weekends with flexibility to switch shifts as required.
  • Must be on the production floor directing the production team 80% of the time.
  • Willing to work in a factory where ambient conditions may be extremely cold, wet, or warm.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the timely deployment of people development plan and assure the competencies of his/her team as per the agreed plan with PM.
  • Enforce strict compliance to standard operation procedures (SOP) by all personnel within the team.
  • Ensure a safe work environment is maintained at all times.
  • Update work instructions available for all positions.
  • Ensure processes are run in accordance with SOP’s, SSOP’s and other documentation.
  • Communicate and accomplish activities with an environmental impact according to the environmental management.
  • Ensure quality objectives are met including regular adherence to GMP’s, performance of sanitation audits, food safety checks, and product quality checks conducted according to policies.
  • Actively participate in prevention and correction of quality-related errors.
  • Check and enforce personnel hygiene and safety e.g., protective clothing (uniform), shoe change and hand wash.
  • Ongoing coaching of employees to fulfill and exceed the requirements of the job through NCE approach.
  • Daily review of achievement of targets and report variances during on the floor and review meetings.
  • Ensure the development and implantation of action plans to address root causes of failures and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitate seamless handoffs and communicate key information to peers, team members, and Production Management.
  • Ensure Continuous line controls and immediate corrective action to assure prescribed quality and to ensure compliance with manufacturing instructions.
  • Ensure ongoing smooth operation of factory through effective employee and industrial relations management.
  • Ensure that there is an adequate distribution of sills to enable production plan to be achieved effectively.
  • Ensure timely launch of new products to the Market as per agreed with the business unit/area.
  • Ensure adequate maintenance of the installations in coordination with quality, engineering & administration.
  • Review daily maintenance effectiveness with Maintenance and Team member to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Prioritize, schedule, and ensure Maintenance and repairs are completed to maximize efficiency.
  • Other duties as assigned.
