Requirements

  • High school diploma; education beyond high school including special training, vocational school and/or college courses is preferred.
  • 1 year of supervisory experience; preferable in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Basic computer skills helpful.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform somewhat identical and related tasks or activities.
  • 1–5 trips per year.
  • Priority consideration will be given to applicants at this facility, as well as priority for internal candidates impacted due to plant closure or job elimination.
  • Internal disqualifiers are the following: 6 attendance points Any suspension on record for the last 12 months

Responsibilities

  • Checking daily production orders to ensure fulfillment of customer orders.
  • Ensuring every position is filled before start-up of production line.
  • Overseeing Team Member meeting, morning exercises and job rotation in order to facilitate ergonomics.
  • Ensuring all machinery is performing to the highest standard possible.
  • Ensuring all workstations have passed USDA Inspection.
  • Promoting safety on a daily basis as well as through monthly safety meetings.
  • Ensuring accurate shipments, rotation of inventory, and proper coding of products.
  • Knowing and communicating company benefits and compensation policies to Team Members.
  • Providing encouragement to Team Members in order to build the best team possible.
  • Performing the human relations functions such as training, retaining, and counseling on personal and professional problems.
  • Overseeing various processing operations and working with other supervisors in solving problems.
  • Keeping records of reworked or returned product.
  • Providing continuous education on the importance of quality.
  • Performing other responsibilities as the need arises.
  • Food safety and quality focus; ensuring compliance with HACCP and monitoring Critical Control Points (CCPs)
  • Enforcing good manufacturing practices (GMPs) and Sanitation Standard Operation Procedures (SSOPs)
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), such as efficiency (OEE), waste and output to meet production goals.
  • Lead with initiatives to keep the work areas clean and organized.
  • Conduct a Level 1 LMOS Meeting prior to start of the shift
