About The Position

Cadrex is searching for a Production Supervisor who is responsible for supervision, direction, and motivation of assigned employees to achieve company goals of quality, production, safety, and continuous improvement. This role involves developing and executing plans to meet or exceed department and company goals for quality, productivity, and cost efficiency, while managing department performance measures and visual controls. The supervisor will focus on daily operations, balancing quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results and drive continuous improvement. They will be responsible for ensuring employees adhere to schedules and customer service requirements, working in conjunction with Quality Assurance to maintain high-quality product standards. This includes identifying and correcting bottlenecks, product defect rates, safety hazards, and equipment issues. The supervisor will also counsel, motivate, and instruct Lead and Set Up personnel, provide on-the-floor training, and manage the department through effective employee relations, including interviewing, hiring, training, performance appraisal, and development. Ensuring proper inventory levels and managing department priorities are also key aspects of this role. The supervisor may also create production schedules to prioritize the department's needs.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Inventory software and Manufacturing software.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years as a production supervisor in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies, analyzes, and acts to correct bottlenecks, product defect rates, safety hazards, tool and equipment problems.
  • Councils, motivates, and instructs Lead and Set Up personnel in quality standards, machine operations, and critical documentation, and employee relations.
  • Provides on-the-floor training to new employees as needed and works closely with the floor Leads and Set Up employees.
  • Manages department by; ensuring effective employee relations; interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; coaching and developing talent; addressing issues and resolving problems.
  • Ensures proper inventory levels are maintained to meet daily production and/or assembly needs.
  • Manages department priorities.
  • May create production schedules to prioritize department’s needs.
