About The Position

Cadrex is searching for a Production Supervisor who is responsible for supervision, direction, and motivation of assigned employees to achieve company goals of quality, production, safety, and continuous improvement. The Production Supervisor develops and executes plans to meet or exceed department and company goals of quality, productivity, and cost efficiency. They manage department performance measures and visual controls, focusing on daily operations and balancing quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. This role involves working to continuously improve in all areas, presenting ideas for improvement and information accurately and clearly in both oral and written form, and ensuring that employees adhere to schedules and customer service requirements. The supervisor works in conjunction with Quality Assurance to make sure high-quality products are produced as specified, identifies, analyzes, and acts to correct bottlenecks, product defect rates, safety hazards, and tool and equipment problems. They also counsel, motivate, and instruct Lead and Set Up personnel in quality standards, machine operations, critical documentation, and employee relations. Additionally, the role provides on-the-floor training to new employees as needed and works closely with floor Leads and Set Up employees. The Production Supervisor manages the department by ensuring effective employee relations, interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, coaching and developing talent, and addressing issues and resolving problems. They ensure proper inventory levels are maintained to meet daily production and/or assembly needs, manage department priorities, and may create production schedules to prioritize the department’s needs.

Requirements

  • 3+ years as a production supervisor in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Inventory software and Manufacturing software.
