The Assessment and Taxation Branch is responsible for the administration of Edmonton’s assessment and tax collection system, representing nearly 60 per cent of the City’s annual operating budget. The Supervisor, Policy and Programs is responsible for leading a small team that analyzes assessment and taxation legislation and policies, liaises with other City departments, prepares briefings and reports for senior leaders and City Council, and coordinates tax-related programs. You will develop and maintain a register of risks, build relationships with other City departments, help them understand how assessment tax impacts and impacted by their work, and help coordinate their access to assessment and taxation data. Additionally, you will support efforts to advocate to external parties, including the provincial government, for changes that would impact the assessment and taxation system. If you are a collaborative leader with a passion for public administration and municipal finance, this is the perfect opportunity for you!
