About The Position

Plans, coordinates, and supervises activities associated with the development and implementation of Constellation's operations training programs at the Clean Energy Center (CEC). Acts as the CEC subject matter expert for their functional area.

Requirements

  • Current or previous SRO license OR SRO certification with 6 years of related (e.g. test reactor, commercial, industrial, or military power plant operator) experience
  • 2 years of training or education experience
  • The requirements as outlined above meet or exceed ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014 (4.4.3) Standard, "Selection, Qualification, and Training of Personnel for Nuclear Power Plants"
  • Maintain minimum access requirements or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties

Responsibilities

  • Provides direction for and supervises Operations Training Instructors through the planning, analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of CEC training programs established to improve CEC and personnel performance in accordance with Constellation Department Descriptions, Policies, Procedures, and Process Descriptions. Program responsibilities include initial license training, reactor operator, senior reactor operator, non-licensed operators, shift manager, shift technical advisor, and simulator performance.
  • Drives CEC and personnel performance improvement using training. Develops, schedules, coordinates, and conducts performance-based training programs as required by user community in accordance with Constellation's Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) model, department procedures, and with proper application of the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation phases.
  • Conducts counseling sessions for trainees, evaluates the results, and recommends/develops individualized training programs.
  • Assures the training programs are maintained current and incorporate information gained from Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) Initial Event Reports and Constellation Nuclear Event Reports (NERs), Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Bulletins and Information Notices, CEC design change and backfit information, CEC procedure changes and revisions, new regulations, and training effectiveness reports.
  • Participates in NRC, INPO and management audits, and prepares responses to audit findings.
  • Supports CEC and fleet in the areas of business initiatives, project management, refuel outage leadership and support, emergency preparedness duties, and special projects. Maintains knowledge of CEC operations, disciplinary skills and techniques, commensurate with the responsibility to develop and conduct effective, high-quality training.
  • Coordinates the efforts of instructors in the development and conduct of training and provides expertise in the implementation of the SAT process by directing and counseling instructors and other staff as assigned by the manager.
  • Perform other job assignments and duties as directed by management or pursuant to company policy, including but not limited to emergency response, departmental coverage, call outs, and support of outage activities in positions outside the department.
