The supervisor is responsible for work direction, education, orientation, and operational problem solving within the unit on a day-to-day basis for Eye Technicians working in the clinic and hospitals. The supervisor is also responsible for problem solving technical, scheduling, and equipment issues for the Department of Ophthalmology. Supervisor is responsible for identifying and initiating improvements in unit matters to facilitate daily operations. The Supervisor schedules work assignments, is responsible for timekeeping activities, completes annual performance appraisals, and oversees orientation, training, and integration of technical personnel to ensure effective and efficient technical assistance to the Ophthalmic Practice. The Supervisor initiates, coordinates, and participates in the interview and selection of prospective employees. The supervisor is also responsible for obtaining and maintaining ophthalmic instrument/equipment and related supplies.
