About The Position

Health Solutions West is the Western slope’s largest behavioral health care organization, covering more than 23,000 square miles across 10 counties. With over 250 employees in Western Colorado, you would be joining a mighty team of support and administrative staff, case managers, clinicians, physicians, nurses, and others in our efforts to improve the health and wellbeing of our community. This role reports to the Senior Vice President to provide client registration training, consultation, analysis, quality control measures, key performance indicators, internal audit results, performance measures, business leadership and guidance to all ten (10) county Outpatient Clinic. Responsible for quality control and standardization practices among point of entry activities associated with client registration, scheduling, clinical activities, EMR, point-of-sale collections and relative key performance indicators. Will supervise Business Service Assistants and liaison with Program Directors to support these activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Business, Accounting, Public Administration, Finance or closely related field, or equivalent combination of post-secondary education and experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience of increasingly responsible office-related experience, to include office management.
  • Minimum two (2) years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with integrated healthcare system supporting patient registration, scheduling, charge-entry, cash collections, and EMR interface.
  • Experience requires customer service, patient accounts receivables and cash posting transactions, quality improvement practices, data analysis, workflow assessment, audits, and experience with staff training, training plan development, and core competency assessments.
  • Customer Service skills.
  • Understanding of CPT codes, HCPS codes, ICD-9s, DSM, and DRGs.
  • Understanding of electronic clinical record development and charge-entry interface.
  • Understanding Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, contractual and third-party authorizations and billing processes, methods, and business rules.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and PHI rules and business practices.
  • Knowledge of accounts receivable activities, cash application, and cash receipt posting/controls.
  • Working knowledge of Windows based computer applications to include Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Internet access.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment including calculator, copy machine, fax and multi-line telephone.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external customers.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload in a sometimes-hectic environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to exercise frequent independent judgment and initiative.
  • Must already be authorized to work in the US; sponsorships not available.

  • Prior work in a human services setting.
  • Experience with medical records or medical systems desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively assign, prioritize, and direct the work assignments and scheduling of those business staff reporting to this position.
  • Compose correspondence, reports, and personnel-related documents with little or no supervision.
  • Travel from one office to another, or to other locations, to attend meetings or run errands.
