Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 or more years of experience in a laboratory, healthcare, manufacturing or warehouse environment

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in science, healthcare, or business
  • 1 year or more of experience in a clinical laboratory
  • 1 year or more of supervisory or leadership experience
  • Understanding of laboratory operations, policies, and procedures
  • Experience working in a high-volume laboratory environment
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to resolve issues in real time
  • Ability to lead, coach and develop frontline employees while fostering accountability and high performance
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends or alternate shifts as business needs require
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop entry-level staff; drive accountability and performance
  • Maintain strong floor presence to support workflow, remove barriers and ensure quality output
  • Manage daily workflow, staffing, and coverage to meet turnaround time and volume demands
  • Monitor productivity, quality, and referral shipment metrics (accuracy, TAT, delays, rework); address gaps in real time
  • Make timely decisions and adjust quickly to changing volumes and priorities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, including missing, delayed or rejected specimens; escalate when needed
  • Ensure compliance with DOT/IATA, SOPs, policies and quality standards
  • Perform quality checks and maintain QA documentation
  • Analyze operational and referral performance data using Excel, dashboards or reporting tools to identify trends and drive decisions
  • Identify and drive process improvements to increase efficiency, quality and reduce errors/rework
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and referral partners to improve service levels
  • Demonstrate ownership by driving results and maintaining operational consistency
