The Supervisor of CTE, Arts, & Electives is responsible to work collaboratively with the Director of Instruction and Chief Operations Officer for the administration, organization and supervision of Division-wide CTE programming, Work-Based Learning opportunities, Arts, & Electives. This includes developing curriculum and new programs, providing staff development, submitting state and federal reports, supporting teachers, and preparing and monitoring a budget. The Supervisor of CTE, Arts, & Electives will create and lead a robust vision for increasing access to all students in the areas of CTE, Arts, and Electives through various opportunities. The Supervisor of CTE, Arts, & Electives is responsible for providing visionary leadership and coordination for a diverse portfolio of content areas, including Career and Technical Education, Visual and Performing Arts, Work-Based Learning experiences, and other elective programming across K–12 schools. This role provides direct support to building administrators to support and enhance skill development in K-12 CTE, Arts, and Electives content areas. This individual ensures that all instructional programs in these areas are aligned with Virginia Standards of Learning (SOLs), foster student engagement, promote wellness and creativity, and provide equitable access to high-quality learning experiences. The coordinator collaborates with teachers, administrators, and community partners to support innovation, enrichment, and academic achievement through robust and inclusive curriculum. The Supervisor of CTE, Arts, & Electives ensures the successful implementation of the Virginia Standards of Learning, LCS LOG’s, dual enrollment experiences, and division-wide instructional practices and initiatives by monitoring instructional quality, coordinating professional learning, and supporting division-level staff, principals, and teachers in achieving growth targets in efforts to close the achievement gap for all students. The Supervisor of CTE, Arts, & Electives provides instructional leadership, curriculum guidance, and professional development to support high-quality teaching and learning in CTE, Arts, World Languages, and Electives content areas throughout K-12 grade levels.
