About The Position

Vitro Architectural Glass, a leading manufacturer of architectural and automotive glass in North America, is seeking a Supervisor of Accounting for its Finance Department at the Wichita Falls facility. This plant specializes in flat glass production using the float glass process for automotive, trade, and mirror applications. The facility operates in a complex, high-temperature manufacturing environment with a strong focus on safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

College degree or equivalent in Accounting or related field.
Detailed knowledge of Accounting theory and principles.
Working knowledge of cost accounting and analysis.
Highly effective organizational skills.
Highly effective supervisory skills.
Highly effective communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Manufacturing accounting experience.
Knowledge of SAP Enterprise system.

Responsibilities

Maintain adequate control of all accounting functions.
Train and supervise all personnel reporting directly to the incumbent to facilitate an efficient operation.
Provide meaningful, timely, and accurate reports to the Plant Controller and other plant management personnel.
Coordinate and supervise all plant accounting functions, including cost estimating, monthly and annual closing, inventory controls, plant production reporting, accounts payable problem resolution, and coordination of the factory shipping control function with General Office centralized billing.
Participate in the preparation of ACTS.
Maintain, ensure accuracy, and operate various computer systems related to Accounting functions.
Ensure proper internal controls.
Ensure an accurate and consistent Production and Cost System (SAP).
Coordinate the various functions related to the operation of the SAP system.
Train and instruct personnel in the proper implementation and changes to the SAP system.
Interact with all levels of management frequently in communicating policy, programs, and relevant financial information and services.
Maintain frequent contact with functional counterparts at other plants to obtain and provide assistance and for interpretation on guidelines and/or problem areas.
