About The Position

Under the direction of the Nutrition Service Director and Operation Manager, the supervisor will have a leadership role in supervising and coordinating all aspects of food production including patient trayline service, special function, and cafeteria services. The Supervisor is responsible for managing production team schedules in coordination with the Operations Manager, ensuring full understanding of and compliance with ECH staffing and ensuring the time and attendance policies are followed. Will provide supervision of hot and cold food preparation and washing personnel for assigned shifts. This includes assessing staff assignments and changes to staffing needs. Will monitor daily operations for safety and quality standards and take corrective action as required to ensure compliance including relief coverage for frontline staff. The supervisor will engage in process improvement initiatives and collaborate with the management team on daily operations. Will be responsible for shift assignments on pm or am shift as required for operational needs. Will require work assignments on weekends and holidays.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of progressive culinary or food service leadership experience required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of common electronic office applications (email, word processing, spreadsheets) and electronic time-keeping programs.
  • Demonstrated customer service excellence and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to resolve interpersonal situations and maintain a positive working environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food safety principles.
  • Ability to effectively plan and organize work schedules for baseline standards and shifts in volume or productivity requirements.
  • Food Safety Management certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • AA degree in food service management, Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or related field desired but not required.
  • Healthcare experience is preferred.
  • Prior experience with electronic vendor order management systems preferred.
