About The Position

This is a general management position in a hospital environment, supporting staffing, working with vendors, and handling budgets while directing operations that impact patient health. The Supervisor Nursing – Float Pool oversees staff and clinical operations, ensuring adequate staffing, personnel compliance and competence, and timely service recovery for patient and family concerns.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
Three years of patient care or nursing experience.
Two years of charge nurse experience or demonstrated leadership skills.
Registered Nurse (RN) license from the State Licensing Board in the applicable state.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

Prepare, supervise, and control the budget, and monitor and analyze variances.
Direct employees to meet mandatory Human Resources requirements.
Complete staff performance appraisals.
Provide timely and effective service recovery to address patient and family complaints and grievances.
Conduct people-management activities for direct team members, including performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and interviews.
Oversee the process for assuring the clinical competence of personnel.
Identify the oncoming shift’s staffing needs and take action within their control to help procure adequate staffing levels.
Remain current with and comply with developments and technology in areas of responsibility, including documentation, medication administration, and monitoring systems.
