About The Position

The Neurodiagnostic Tech Supervisor oversees and manages Neurodiagnostic Tech team members, including Patient Testing Techs, under minimal supervision of the department manager and Medical Director. The position provides staff direction and education, works with operational leaders, and oversees hiring, termination, and team members’ professional growth and development. The supervisor also performs many clinical duties performed by subordinate employees. The role is based in the inpatient Neurodiagnostic Lab at Stanford Health Care, which provides neurological testing in areas including EEG, long-term monitoring (LTM), the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU), EMG, evoked potentials (EP), intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring (IONM), autonomics, and transcranial Doppler (TCD). The lab serves patients in the EMU, intensive care units, operating rooms, and other specialized hospital locations, and supports pediatric and adult patients. The supervisor maintains laboratory procedures and protocols, supports staff and learner development, coordinates staffing and workflow, communicates technical-area progress and issues to the department manager, and helps resolve technical problems. Clinical duties may include nerve conduction studies, EEG, cEEG, LTM, IONM, and TCD, depending on the assigned department, as well as assisting physicians with EMG testing. The role also maintains and troubleshoots equipment and keeps current with developments in neurodiagnostic technology.
