About The Position
Nevada Gold Mines is hiring a supervisor for its Goldstrike operations. The role oversees underground electrical and network/communications work, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground electrical equipment and network and communications systems. It provides direct supervision to electrical crews and contractors and supports safe, productive execution of construction and maintenance plans. The position also administers company policies and procedures and performs other duties as assigned. The role requires working a rotating schedule of nights and days. Requirements
- Eight years of experience working in an underground mining environment.
- Willingness to learn and apply new skills to repair underground mobile mining equipment.
- Strong dedication to safety and courageous leadership.
- Proven safe work history.
- Ability to work effectively with all departments in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of high- and low-voltage power distribution.
- Strong computer skills.
- Ability to perform all essential functions of the position.
Nice To Haves
- Three years of experience with underground networks and communications.
- Formal education in networking and/or communications.
- Strong knowledge and skills in repair, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of complex underground equipment for networks and communications.
- Demonstrated knowledge of SAP/EAM.
- Knowledge of conveyor systems, ventilation systems, pumping systems, and communications systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide supervision for the electrical maintenance workforce in the Underground Division.
- Carry out construction and electrical maintenance plans in a safe, productive work environment.
- Perform network and communications maintenance in the mine and on the surface.
- Maintain equipment including fiber-optic and wireless networks, Cisco switches, radios, and radio controls.
- Administer company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
