About The Position

The Supervisor, Medical Referrals schedules and pre-registers patients for exams and procedures with specialists and providers outside of the primary care physician's office. This role operates within prescribed guidelines and procedures, requiring judgment and analysis of variable factors to solve basic problems. The Supervisor collaborates with management and top professionals/specialists in selecting methods, techniques, and analytical approaches. Key responsibilities include gathering and communicating all relative information and preparation instructions to patients and referring providers. Decisions are typically related to scheduling, plans, and daily operations. The role involves performing escalated or more complex similar work, supervising a group of typically support and technical associates, and providing daily oversight to ensure consistency in execution across the team. The Supervisor will hold team members accountable for following established policies. This is a Hybrid role with an expectation of strong market-wide center presence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent or 4 - 6 years in a physician office, health care, or managed care environment
  • Experience in ICD-9, ICD-10 and CPT coding
  • Prior management or supervisor experience
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office products
  • Valid driver's license and/or transportation necessary
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on improving consumer experiences
  • Runs its Tuberculosis (TB) screening program, which includes this role. If selected for this role, we will require you to screen for TB.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Medical Coder with one of the following active certifications and with a high degree of competency (CPC, CPC-H, or CPMA from AAPC; or CCA, CCSP, CCS from AHIMA)
  • ICD-10 Certification
  • CRC Certification through AAPC
  • MRA and HEDIS knowledge
