About The Position

Cox Automotive is seeking a Supervisor for their Mechanic Shop. This role involves overseeing vehicle inspections, managing shop employees and workflow to ensure timely completion of vehicles, and ensuring employees have the necessary equipment and training. The supervisor will also communicate reconditioning goals and issues with the operations manager, assist in performance evaluations, track production using management tools, lead by example, monitor supply usage, and enforce company policies. The schedule for this position is Sunday-Thursday, with specific hours on Sunday (6am-4:30pm) and Monday-Thursday (7am-4pm).

Requirements

HS Diploma/GED and 5+ years of relevant experience in a related field (vehicle reconditioning, detailing, mechanical and/or body shop experience); or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
Competent supervisory and excellent organizational skills.
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
Safe drivers needed; valid driver’s license required.
Ability to drive standard and automatic transmission vehicles.
Must be able to clear a pre-employment drug test.
Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Supervising the inspection of vehicles.
Managing the workflow and activities of the shop employees to ensure that all vehicles are completed in a timely manner.
Ensuring employees have the proper equipment and are properly trained.
Communicating and resolving reconditioning goals, results, and problems with the operations manager.
Assisting manager in monitoring and evaluating employee job performance and conducting performance appraisals.
Using management tools to track production and post charges.
Leading by example and ensuring that all employees are treated with respect.
Monitoring and controlling the use of supplies, materials, and equipment for the recon shop.
Enforcing all company policies and procedures related to employee and customer conduct.
