About The Position
Plans, directs and coordinates activities relating to the materials department activities including safety, quality, productivity and employee relations.
Requirements
- Excellent problem solving and leadership skills
- Detail oriented and excellent documentation skills
- Working knowledge of safety standards and OSHA guidelines
- Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MRP
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of materials supervisory experience or 5+ years materials team leadership experience in a tier-one automotive manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities
- Supervises the Materials department’s Team Leaders, Kitters / Pullers and Forklift Truck Drivers.
- Plans, directs and coordinates movement of material within the JIT manufacturing facility.
- Assist the Materials Manager in appropriate manpower requirements.
- Assist in managing material cycle counts and annual physical inventory reconciliation.
- Leads process improvement projects: productivity, quality, ergonomics, etc.
- Trains employees on their job duties and responsibilities; cross-trains as necessary.
- Ensures employees are consistently adhering to standardized work processes and schedules.
- Ensures all company policies, procedures, plant standards and safety rules are consistently adhered to.
- Collaborates with the Department and HR Managers in administering disciplinary action, when necessary.
- Maintains employees’ time related to the Attendance and Time-Off Policies
- Provides timely feedback on work performance and performance reviews.
