About The Position

Mohawk Medbuy Corporation (MMC) is a national, not-for-profit, shared services organization that supports hundreds of health care providers across Canada, as well as child welfare agencies and other public sector organizations. MMC provides value-driven contracting and procurement solutions for medical/surgical supplies, pharmaceutical products, local sourcing, capital (equipment, FF&E and redevelopment) and nutrition solutions. Other services include data analytics, in-hospital support, warehousing/logistics, technology, procure-to-pay, and accounts payable. With an emerging focus on sustainability and reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples, MMC is actively supporting the creation of a resilient value chain that incorporates environmental, social, and economic best practices. Based in Burlington, ON, the organization also has offices in Toronto, Thunder Bay, Kingston, Brantford, London and Chatham, and a distribution centre in Oakville. We are currently recruiting for a Temporary Full-time Supervisor, In-Hospital Logistics to support our In-Hospital Logistics team at Trillium Health Partners (THP). This position requires the individual to be onsite 5 days a week providing leadership and operational support across three Trillium Hospital sites including Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga Hospital and Queensway Health Centre.

Requirements

  • Post secondary degree in business or supply chain related field
  • 4-6 years supervisory experience in a supply chain related field (Hospital, Warehousing, CPG)
  • Ability to travel to Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga Hospital and Queensway Health Centre sites.
  • Ability to travel to Mohawk Medbuy offices if required.
  • As a condition of employment, you are required to submit proof of full COVID-19 vaccination to Human Resources.

Nice To Haves

  • NISCL, SCMP, P.Log or other supply chain certification.
  • Experience supervising in a union environment and familiarity with collective bargaining
  • 1-3 years’ experience implementing operational changes, continuous improvement or LEAN processes
  • 1-3 years’ experience with materials management or supply chain software (Meditech, SAP, Allscripts, or other)

Responsibilities

  • Daily oversight of all supply chain functions related to the site (Logistics, Shipping/Receiving, Warehousing, Distribution, and Purchasing where applicable)
  • Daily execution of Just-In-Time (Stockless) supply chain and hospital relationship with the 3PL provider.
  • Ensures all supply chain strategies and operations are aligned with the MMC and THP values.
  • Builds a strong relationship with THP stakeholders to ensure MMC alignment with the THP initiatives.
  • Daily monitoring and continuous improvement of all KPI's
  • Manages daily backorders and escalates critical issues to Manager / Director and clinical staff.
  • Planning and execution of Par-Reviews for JIT supply carts
  • Complete supply cart audits regularly using the designated auditing tool.
  • Regular checks and balances to ensure inventory systems are kept up to date and a high level of accuracy is achieved.
  • Execute in conjunction with THP staff, the cycle counting and year-end inventory process
  • Ensure rotation and adequate depletion of pandemic supply, flagging risks to manager and or THP director.
  • Coordinates and participates in materials management on-call schedule.
  • Complies with all MMC and THP Human Resources protocols and all regulatory bodies requirements, the Collective Agreement and accrediting agencies.
  • Recruits, coaches, mentors, evaluates, and manages the performance and development of staff.
  • Participates in discipline and labour management activities.
  • Administers hospital payroll and related procedures.
  • Demonstrates and promotes MMC and THP culture, values and management philosophy.
  • Coaches/mentors the in-hospital teams (Storekeepers, Shipper/Receivers, Controllers and Buyers/SMC's if applicable).
  • Sets high standards of excellence, leading by example, clarifying roles and responsibilities, providing clear directions and priorities, monitoring and celebrating progress and achievement.
  • Manage operations budget and inventory of $100k-$1M+
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with hospital department managers, hospital leadership, patients, contractors, suppliers and the community to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Fosters a “Customer-Centric” culture within the department
  • Timely responses to internal customer inquiries.
  • Performs his/her job according to safe work practices, following instructions and using the equipment provided.
  • Actively participates in the hospital Health and Safety Program by undergoing safety training/education.
  • Ensures all required equipment and protective devices are used in the prescribed manner.
  • Ensures that all incidents/accidents/hazardous conditions are investigated promptly, the reports are completed on time and submitted as required, and corrective actions are taken.
